Garden design

Welcome to gardening that gives back.

Nurture your family, your community and the planet through the joy of sustainable gardening. A certified specialist designs it, and you decide how much of the work you want to do.

How we think

Designs that work with nature, not against it.

Like a wild forest, a well-designed garden thrives without pesticides or salt fertilizers. We use permaculture principles and soil biology to build gardens that produce clean food, season after season.

Where to start

Six steps from first call to a living garden.

1

Book a free consultation

Use the contact form to book a free phone or Zoom consultation of up to 30 minutes so we can see if we are a good fit.

2

Site survey

A site visit ($150) with a detailed walkthrough and mapping of your space. We take measurements and soil samples, then talk through your vision and what the property can do.

3

Proposal and green light

We meet on Zoom to review a preliminary draft and make changes. Then we write a proposal covering every part of the design and give you a clear estimate. Once it is signed, we begin your final design.

4

Finalize design and details

After you approve the final revisions, an estimator walks you through the costs. Your original designer stays involved through the next phases so everything stays true to your vision.

5

Installation

Install it yourself, or work with one of our trusted landscape professionals. Either way we support you at every step and hold the work to a high standard.

6

Maintenance and care

We like building long-term relationships with clients and their landscapes. Our holistic care manages pests and disease naturally, and invites in birds, bees and other local wildlife.

Questions

Good questions, straight answers.

What makes Woodland Edibles different from other landscape or design companies?

We use the latest understanding of soil and plant biology to keep your plants healthy. We never use pesticides, salt-heavy fertilizers or insecticides. When the biology is healthy, you do not need them.

Where do you work?

Garden maintenance is currently offered in the North Metro Atlanta area only. Soil lab testing and permaculture design are available wherever you are, either directly through us or through a partner near you. Book a free consultation and we will tell you what fits.

Where do membership contributions go?

Straight into local nonprofit parks and community garden projects: building local food networks, supporting education, and organizing events for members.

Are your services affordable?

Yes. We can work within nearly any budget. Our goal is to move you toward food self-sufficiency and a healthier local food system, so we build a plan around what you can actually do.

I already have a landscaper, or I want to do the work myself. Can you still help?

Absolutely. We can give you design input, specialized advice and learning resources whether you hire a landscaper or do the digging yourself.
